The rich starlet from the world ‘s most famous dynasty Hearst, Fabiola Beracasa arrived in the city, apparently to check out the final preparations for the most important day in her life. The wedding of the century, as the people in Dubrovnik call it, is set for Friday, June 6th. Nevertheless the bride came to Croatia seven days earlier, and started to enjoy everything Dubrovnik has to offer. Sporting casual attire and having no makeup on, she attended a Dubrovnik Symphony orchestra concert.
Over four hundred of the most powerful and influential people in the world will come to Dubrovnik on the 6th of June. They will attend a marriage of Fabiola Beracasa and Jason Beckman, which will be held in the luxury hotel Excelsior. During these four days of celebration, granddaughter of the media mogul William Randolph Hearst and an investment banker promised to offer “the best that Croatia has” to their guests.
In spirit of that promise, hundreds of bottles of wines, such as: Dom Perignon, Peljesacki Plavac and Miraval Rose, were delivered to Dubrovnik’s hotel over the past few days. Hosts of the Hearst dynasty also ordered around 120 kilograms of caviar and other delicacies originating from all over Croatia.
During the four-day wedding, the hotel will be closed to the public; only guests and strictly selected personnel will be allowed entrance. Guests of the wedding will arrive on private planes and dine on food cooked by Croatia’s best chefs.
The wedding of the century will cost millions of US dollars. A single night at the Dubrovnik hotel will cost between 300 and 600 euros per guest. The whole event is going to be covered by American Vogue, in a ten page long reportage.
Fabiola Beracasa is a 38 year-old daughter of Victoria Hearst, third wife of the billionaire Randy Hearst. Fabiola was born in Venezuelan Caracas, where she spent early childhood with her mother and father. When her father died, she continued living with her mother and media mogul Hearst, in whose house she met her husband-to-be.
Fabia and Jason got engaged in 2010. Her family, the Hearsts, is the most well-known but also flagrant American billionaire family. Her grandfather, William Randolph Hearst, is attributed with the formation of the “yellow press”. He was the creator of many iconic media including Harpers Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Elle, The Oprah Magazine and over 29 television channels. Great Orson Wells described his life in the film “Citizen Kane”.
For this occasion, the couple also rented the Marin Drzic theater. With the ‘blessing’ of the City of Dubrovnik, this cultural monument will become a restaurant/disco for one night. As same as the Sponza Palace, the Rector’s Palace and Fort Lawrence where events should take place. It is speculated that Elton John, Eric Clapton or Sting will sing on the wedding.
