For the second year running, the Summer Tennis Camp with Goran Ivanisevic has begun. Children from Dubrovnik and all over the world have the chance to learn top tips and techniques from teh former Wimbledon champion at the Gospino Polje tennis courts.
”This year we will have 18 children at the camp, and unlike last year there will be kids from America, Sweden, teh Ukraine and Bosnia. We’re very pleased with the demand.” Ragusa Tennis Centre coach Pasko Barovic told us.
Ivanisevic told press of hos hopes for the camp, ”This year I expect only that the children learn something and they return next year. I sincerely hope that we will help them to be more secure on the court. The development of Dubrovnik tennis is very important here. You have a superstar in town, Ana Konjuh, I hope that she will help us through this camp to see that another star is born in Dubrovnik.”
”It’s a nasty sport that tennis, a lot of sacrifice is required, a lot of everything to coincide, for tennis and the head. I hope that in the next five years we have more children engaged in tennis. We Dalmatians are very talented with a ball, so it should remain that way.”
