By the end of this week a heatwave will hit the whole of Croatia with peak temperatures of 36 degrees Celsius in the shade.
The extra hot weather will last until Monday with the early mornings seeing temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees. Friday, Sunday and Monday are expected to be the hottest days with Dubrovnik forecast to reach 31 degrees on those days.
Advice from the government is to avoid being out in the sun from 12 pm – 5 pm, drink plenty of fluids, avoid caffeine and sugar filled drinks, wear light coloured clothing made from natural materials, avoid physical work and those on medication should consult with their doctors.
