Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Takes Part in Hilton Worldwide’s Annual Global Career Week

Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik participates in Hilton Worldwide’s annual global career event showcasing the many opportunities available in the hospitality industry for young people. This initiative is a part of Hilton Open Doors commitment, which aims to positively impact at least one million young people by 2019 and better prepare them to reach their full potential.

Hilton’s future depends on resilient and thriving societies, and this starts with young people. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals set out ambitious goals for humanity to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity. They can only be realized if we invest in and empower the next generation.

Hilton co-founded the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative in 2015, the U.S. largest employer-led coalition committed to creating pathways to meaningful employment for young people. Hilton is a founding member of the White House’s First Job Compact, calling for communities and businesses to help connect out-of-school, out-of-work Opportunity Youth ages 16 to 24 to their first jobs. The company participates in the Youth Career Initiative, a programme of the hotel coalition International Tourism Partnership, which provides training and employment to young people from disadvantaged background. Since 2014, Hilton trained 135 young people in nine countries.
Over 20 hotels across Europe are working with centers to support individuals who have fled hardship. In Germany, Hilton is the single largest hotel group to have joined the business-led coalition, “Wir Zusammen,” to foster economic and social integration of refugees. To date, hotels have connected with over 610, prepared over 100 and employed 21 refugees across Europe.
