Hotel Excelsior Begins Birthday Celebrations

While the main event may be tonight’ concert on the Stradun, Sunday night saw the Hotel Excelsior officially open its centennial celebrations with a press conference for Bryan Ferry followed by a cocktail party for invited guests.

Ferry told press that visiting Dubrovnik was a wish of his for a long time, ”It’s wonderful to be in this beautiful city. Last night I looked around and it is truly fantastic. I’m happy to be in Dubrovnik because this is one place that I’ve always wanted to visit. In doing so I have fulfilled a long held wish.”

When asked about what people should expect from tonight’s concert Ferry was brief,”Tomorrow we have a great mix of material that I have made ​​over the years, from different eras of my creativity, that of Roxy Music, to the recent things that I did last year.”

Adriatic Luxury Hotels, Hotel Excelsior’s owner, was represented by Board President Camilo Soza at the conference, ”We wanted to give  our people to give a really special gift for our centennial celebrations. We are proud that the concert will take place on the Stradun. Hotel Excelsior is a name that stands, like Dubrovnik, for tradition and culture, which we want to preserve and maintain. We hope that in the coming hundred years, the Excelsior will develop, along with the city. Our desire is to continue to do these events. I thank everyone who helped us to make this concert. It is an honor to be here and welcome such artists as Bryan Ferry and his orchestra.”

Guests were then treated to a Great Gatsby theme cocktail party with a performance by Croatian pop diva, Nina Badric. Guests included Dubrovnik Mayor Andro Vlahusic and Croatia’s wealthiest man and ALH owner, Davor Luksic and his fiance Cristel Chiara Carrisi.

Tonight’s concert is scheduled for 21 30 with DJ Sander Kleinenberg following Ferry’s concert. Be sure to arrive in plenty of time to secure a good spot.
