The only hotel on the island of Mljet, Hotel Odisej, reopens its doors following the winter break on May 1st. The hotel will welcome around 150 mountaineers as part of the annual ‘May Day March On Mljet’. The event, which has been running since 2005, is organised by the Mountaineers Association on Mljet and takes place over a few days.
The program of activities includes mountaineering, recreational and cultural activities across the Mljet National Park which is famed for its beauty. A new exhibition titled ‘Sails and Olives of Mljet’ at Hotel Odisej will officially open the event. Lectures on medicinal herbs and plants and visits to the Odisej Cave are also planned. This year the Mljet National Park and mountaineers have organised several events including Earth Run Europe and beach clean ups.
