Although it was rumoured at the start of May that Japanese Emperor Akihito may visit Konavle, recently obtained information suggests that in fact Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako will be the Japanese VIPs visiting Dubrovnik.
Konavle Council leader Luka Korda hosted Japanese Ambassador Masuru Tsuji earlier this month at Konavoski Dvori restaurant. Korda told press that the Ambassador’s visit came in preparation for a visit to the area by VIP delegation from Japan sparking speculation that Emperor Akihito would visit.
This latest information regarding the Prince and Princess has been unofficially confirmed by Konavle Council who added that it is still not 100% certain that the visit will go ahead.
