Make the most of these hot summer nights by visiting Park Orsula this weekend for live music under the stars. Damir Kukuruzović Gipsy Swing Quartet will take to the stage on Friday night, his love of music is focused on two areas-a love for jazz and Roma music. But when we talk about this second type, we’re not talking about music and accordion, but the virtuoso guitar performances of Gypsy heritage presented to the world by the unequaled Django Reinhardt.
Comparisons with Reinhardt’s work are inevitable for the Damir Kukuruzović Gipsy Swing Quartet. Kukurozović in world circles represents one of the best guards of Reinhardt’s legacy, both albums (“Green Hill Gipsy Swing” and “Manouche”) have received good ratings and global acclaim. On its musical journey this quartet has collaborated with renowned names from the world of gypsy jazz such as accordionist Ludovic Beier and Adrian B. Burns (known for his appearances with Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings).
Saturday will see German DJ Alex Barck perform a set for the crowds. For Berlin DJ / producer of collective Jazzanova it can rightly be said that they marked an entire era of electronic music. When in the mid-nineties theybegan to promote the combination of electronic, house music with jazz motifs, or chillout and jazz house, Jazzanova was unavoidable name in all conversations. Music of the six-member collective, could be heard at all parties, and many musicians have asked them to do remixes of their songs so it is almost impossible to count all the projects Jazzanova have been involved. Alex will be joined by renowned Croatian DJ Eddie Ramich.
Tickets for the concerts are available at the Park entrance for 70 HRK for Friday and 80 HRK for Saturday.
