Dubrovnik is becoming the backdrop for another Hollywood blockbuster. According to DuList, Lions Gate house latest production, starring Nicolas Cage, should be shot precisely in our city.
The plot of ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’, directed by Tom Gormican, revolves around Cage, who will embody himself on the big screen. He will be accompanied by actor Pedro Pascal, formerly known to the people of Dubrovnik as Oberyn Martell from the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’, and the comedian Tiffany Haddish. Mister Pascal was seen drinking his morning coffee on the balcony of the Excelsior Hotel on Friday, so it is probable that the rest of the cast is here too. Trucks full of equipment were parked in front of the Grand Villa Argentina this Saturday, taken care of by a large film crew. It has not yet been officially announced were the filming will be held exactly, but it’s presumed it will take place at Vila Šeherezada. The premiere date of the film is March 19, 2021.
