Photo Gallery: Magical Night in Front of the Rector’s Palace

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra held this Friday a great opera open air evening! The audience was thrilled with some of the most famous opera arias and overtures at the unique stage that only Dubrovnik has.

The orchestra was conducted by Israeli conductor Noam Zur whose repertoire includes over 30 operas and more than 250 symphonic works from all styles and periods. Beginning at 2015, he is the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the International Opera Arias Festival ‘Tino Pattiera“ in Dubrovnik.

As a soloist performed tenor Xavier Moreno who within the last 5 years has sung the main leading roles of his repertoire and received critical acclaim at renowned opera houses. Born in Barcelona, he studied voice, piano and choral conducting at the „Conservatiori Superior del Liceu“ and finished with highest distinction. During his career, he has perfomed with great orchestras worldwide. Dubrovnik’s audience could meet him last year at International Opera Arias Festival „Tino Pattiera“ when the audience was thrilled with his performances in Rector’s Palace.

He was joined by amazing Saskia Bouma, alto who studied singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Holland and has cooperated with successful conductors such as Philippe Herreweghe, Gustav Leonhard, Riccardo Chailly and orhers. She was a member of the opera-company „Kontraveus“ in Barcelona, and today she regurarly performs in Spain, Germany and Netherlands.

All opera lovers, as well as those craving for great musical open air concerts, this Friday had the greaters opportunity to enjoy opera arias and overtures from W.A. Mozart, G. Bizet, A. Ponchielli, G. Puccini, O. Strauss, Ch. Gounod, G. Verdi and A. Leoncavallo…
