Dubrovnik branch office of the Croatian Heritage Foundation (Hrvatska matica iseljenika Dubrovnik) organizes many interesting events throughout the year in our lovely town, and one of the most important – and certainly the merriest! – is the traditional gathering of Dubrovnik’s diaspora.
So was this Friday, when many people of Dubrovnik living abroad gathered in Orsan Restaurant in Lapad. This event, that has a charity note as well, is over a decade old, and is considered a channel for emigrants in New York with roots in Dubrovnik to offer assistance to their native region, providing monetary aid to the sick and to the destitute and participating in the renovation of churches in Dubrovnik and nearby Ston, as they write on their official web page.
Of course, we wouldn’t miss it in a world – and capture some great moments from this year’s gathering!
