Roko Tolić at a farewell party to ambassador Foley

After three years he spent in Zagreb, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, James Foley, would return to Washington. On that occasion, Croatian President Josipović threw a farewell party.

It was held at Pantovčak for an inner circle, the attendees included State Attorney Mladen Bajić, former minister of defence Davor Božinović, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Drago Lovrić, painter Zvonimir Mihanović, Styria manager Reverend Ivan Tolj, former Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor as well as the manager of Dubrovnik Airport Roko Tolić.

It is well known that Foley loves Dubrovnik and Croatia, he often stresses that he is married to a Croatian because his wife’s grandfather comes from Island of Korčula. Foley admits he has been sent to Croatia to help the country join the NATO and European Union. Moreover, he organised the first economic forum of U.S. and Croatia – The Ron Brown Forum.

James Foley will be replaced in his position of U.S. Ambassador to Croatia by Kenneth Marten who exercised the same function to Haiti.
