Sea quality fit for swimming on Lopud Island

Sea quality in Lopud Bay is fit for swimming. Moreover, it is excellent as the Public Health Institute of Dubrovnik-Neretva County reports.

The Institute informs the public that the short-term pollution with sewage waste water at Hotel Grand Beach on Lopud Island is over.

Additional tests of sea water were undertaken on August 1 and 2, 2012, and the results complied with the Directive standards and were graded as excellent, therefore the sea is fit for swimming.

The sea quality at Hotel Grand Beach on Lopud Island will be tested in 7 days again in order to check the short-term pollution.

Yesterday, the City Mayor, Andro Vlahušić, addressed the problem of sewage waste waters in Lopud Bay and stressed that the sewage system of Lopud Island and Šipanska Luka are the priorities of the city authorities in the period between 2013 and 2014. There is a donor who secured funds for Šipanska Luka and Lopud will be taken care of by the City.
