Shared Innovation Exhibition

As part of Croatia’s impending EU accession, the British Council has created the Welcome Croatia festival, a series of events allowing British people to familiarise themselves with different aspects of Croatian culture. The first of these  events is the Shared Innovation exhibition at the British Council Gallery.

The exhibition organised by the British-Croatian Society (hosted by the British Council in partnership with the Croatian Ministry of Culture), is the result of a partnership developed between the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Royal College of Art, the Croatian Designers’ Association and the School of Design, University of Zagreb. Shared Innovation showcases the success of the ‘Extra / ordinary Design Workshops’ – “led by UK expertise, and a design-led inclusive process to help transform organisations run by, employing or educating socially marginalised groups and supports their struggle in challenging economic times.”

One such organisation named ZVONO, is a creative centre that works with young people with learning difficulties. Designers were briefed to co-design a range of environmentally sustainable  products that would help support the organisation’s financial self sufficiency.

Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays 10:00 to 16:00 hours. Guided tours will take place on Saturdays at 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00. To book your place on a tour it is necessary to email: bclondon.exhibition@britishcouncil.org.
