If you are wondering why Dubrovnik has been covered with flags today, here’s your answer. Flags are symbols of the 1044th celebration of the Feast of Saint Blaise. Traditional colors or ‘standali’ are placed everywhere on the Stradun to ‘salute’ the patron saint. At the same time, entrepreneur Ante Pavlovic and captain Zvonimir Cetinic, carried the proclamations and religious programs to parishes and monasteries, civil and church institutions in the area of Dubrovnik diocese. Why? Same as flags, they marked the start of the celebration – the best day of the year for each Dubrovnik citizen.
