The Mountain from the Game of Thrones was named the World’s strongest Viking!

‘Well today my friends I create history! As well as winning the title of The World’s Strongest Viking for the second time in a row I carried this MONSTER LOG for 5 steps! My back held up fine!! As I’m on my way to my ultimate goal to win The World’s Strongest Man! NOTHING CAN STOP ME!! NOTHING CAN BREAK ME!!’, wrote Hafthór Júlíus ‘Thor’ Björnsson on Instagram. He is also very known as The Mountain from the Game of Thrones (the actor who visited Dubrovnik).
Namely, this weightlifter-turned-actor received a title of World’s strongest Viking, after he successfully completed the challenge in Norway over the weekend by lifting his own 1,400-pound log and carrying it for whopping five steps. This discipline was borne thousand years ago, when a Viking named Orm Storolfson picked up a log weighing 1,433 pounds and dragged it for three steps. When he was on the third step, his back broke. Nevertheless, Storolfson made it into Icelandic lore as a legendary strongman.
Now, Björnsson broke this record by walking two steps further than his predecessor.
