The Times and The Sun Nominate Croatia For the World’s Best Destination

According to the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) Croatia has been nominated for the prestigious Best Country Award 2020, awarded to the best country in the world by the British newspapers The Times & The Sunday Times and The Sun.

The award is to be presented for the eighth time this year and Croatia has been nominated alongside other distinguished destinations such as France, Turkey, the USA, Dubai, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Thailand.

“We are extremely proud of this nomination which has strengthened our country’s position in the British market as well as confirmed that our increased marketing activities in Great Britain are giving excellent results. I invite all Croatia lovers to take the opportunity and vote for Croatia, which absolutely deserves to be on a such an important list,” said Kristjan Staničić, HTZ Director.

The final winner will be chosen by the readers who can vote via link by the end of October. Everyone participating in the voting have a chance of winning exclusive prizes, some of them being vacations in Barbados and Dominican Republic. In addition to the best country category, you can vote in 12 more categories, amongst them for the best city, airline and travel company.

The award ceremony will take place in November, most likely online given the current epidemiological situation.

HTZ notes that The Times & The Sunday Times and The Sun are one of Britain’s most popular newspapers at the moment, with The Times being read by nearly 3 million people per day, and The Sun having a monthly reach of over 37 million readers.
