The Croatian Embassy in London hosted a Christmas party organized by the City of Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik airport today. In addition to the host, Ambassador to the UK Ivan Grdešić, the reception was attended by eighty foreign guests in front of which, ambassador Grdesic once again talked about the importance of Dubrovnik throughout history. Commercial Director of Dubrovnik Airport Frano Luetic and director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board Romana Vlasic pointed out that the popularity of our city continues to grow, particularly thanks to a variety of direct flights – lines of all the main British air – carriers. They also presented a very successful program of this years Dubrovnik Winter Festival and mentioned the numerous of summer Dubrovnik events important for both – Croatia and Great Britain – such as Summer Midsummer Festival, which is to be held in 2016 for the third time.
During the reception in London, thankful to Skype link, guests had the opportunity to see the richness of light decoration and atmosphere on Stradun and the performance of the folk ensemble Lindo, who sang Kolenda (Christmas carols) and danced Lindo in front of the camera, which delighted the audience. After program guests tried Croatian specialties and local wines and enjoyed the music of Dubrovnik guitarist with a London address, Martin Pulić.
Christmas reception in London was a kind of gratitude to the Britons who are on the top list of visitors in our city (they made more than 123 000 arrivals and over 630,000 overnight stays).
On this occasion, Croatia Airlines and the Hotel Pucic Palace gave the special prize to one lucky person – a free return flight from London to Dubrovnik and a free weekend in the hotel. The lucky winner was Photis Lambrianides from Olympic Holidays agency.
