Pelješac records 1 millionth overnight stay first time ever

For the first time in the history of tourism on Pelješac Peninsula, the millionth overnight stay has been recorded. The tourist year 2012 will be remembered on Pelješac Peninsulaas the year that broke all the records since the existence of tourism on the peninsula.

Orebić Municipality surpassed its yearly turnover from 2011, as well as the number of 700,000 overnight stays. The same is valid for all tourist municipalities – Orebić, Trpanj, Ston and Janjina alike. For their overall overnight stays tourist destinations onPelješacPeninsulacome in the second place inDubrovnik-NeretvaCounty.

Frome the beginning of the year to the end of August, there were 122,800 tourists onPelješacPeninsula, 95% of them being foreign tourists, and there were 940,000 overnight stays which is 10% more than in the same period in 2011. The same positive trend has continued in September which has resulted in the millionth overnight stay recorded for the first time in tourist history ofPelješacPeninsula.
