Dubrovnik Tourist Board has announced this year’s New Year’s Eve program. If you’re looking for a trip away to recover from the stress that Christmas has brought you then spending New Years in Dubrovnik is the perfect answer.
Warm up for the main event begins on December 29th with two local bands performing on the Stradun; ‘Buco and Pende’ and ‘Valetudo’, December 30th sees a daytime performance of vocal group ‘Klapa Ragusavecchia’ with the evening bringing a host of top vocal group to the Old Town, including ‘Klapa Cambi’.
New Year’s Eve sees a day long program filled with musical delights, kicking off at 10 30 with a concert by ‘Klapa Ragusa’ and traditional carolling with folklore performed by FA Lindo topped off with a cocktail flair show by the Association of Barmen. There’s even something for the children with a special ‘Kiddie’s Countdown’ at 12 30!
The evening’s festivities will begin at 21 30 with three groups performing: Klapa Intrade, Novi Fosili and Grupa Dariva. A fantastic fireworks display will light up the sky at midnight, marking the start of 2013. If you still have any energy left on New Year’s Day the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be performing on the Stradun at 13 00.
