Dubrovnik is preparing to enter the 2026 festive season with a new name, a refreshed identity and the promise of another memorable winter in one of the world’s most beautiful historic cities.
The event previously known as the Dubrovnik Winter Festival will now continue under the name Advent in the City, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Dubrovnik’s largest festive celebration.
The new identity places the focus firmly on the experience of Advent in Dubrovnik: illuminated stone streets, seasonal flavours, music beneath the city walls and gatherings across the city during the weeks leading up to Christmas and the New Year.
A New Name for Dubrovnik’s Winter Celebration
Although the name is changing, the spirit that has made Dubrovnik’s winter programme increasingly popular remains at its heart.
Visitors can once again expect festive decorations, concerts, traditional delicacies, family activities and entertainment at several locations, with the Old City and Stradun remaining at the centre of the celebrations.
The rebranding also reflects Dubrovnik’s ambition to strengthen its position as a year-round destination, showing visitors a quieter and more intimate side of the city beyond its famous summer season.
During Advent, the historic centre takes on a completely different atmosphere. The summer crowds give way to relaxed evening walks, decorated squares, the scent of festive food and music echoing between centuries-old palaces.
Plavi Orkestar to Welcome 2027 on Stradun
The first major musical name has already been revealed. Popular regional band Plavi Orkestar will perform on Stradun as Dubrovnik welcomes 2027.
Known for songs that have remained favourites across generations, the band is expected to bring a celebratory and nostalgic atmosphere to one of Croatia’s most spectacular open-air New Year’s Eve settings.
Additional performers and details of the programme will be announced later.
With its new name and renewed festive concept, Advent in the City is set to continue transforming Dubrovnik into a lively winter destination, proving once again that the Pearl of the Adriatic does not lose its magic when summer ends.
