A performance of Mozart’s comic opera “The Marriage of Figaro” by the students of the Music Academy in Zagreb as part of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival attracted a large audience last night, at the Rector’s Palace.
‘Le nozze di figaro’ is a comic opera in four acts and one of the most successful works of Mozart, that takes place at the castle of Count Almavivea on the wedding day of Figaro and Susanna, servants of Count and Countess Almaviva, and easily finds its way to the hearts of the audience, which was last night confirmed a lengthy applause.
After last night’s successful performance by Music Academy students, students studying acting at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb will perform in a dance show titled “Under the Moon” with original gypsy music, inspired by the Roma culture, stories, legends and beliefs in magic.
