Pianist Jasminka Stančul to Perform With Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra

For the past few years, Dubrovnik hosts amazing musician Jasminka Stančul, whose performances with Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra were often called ‘the pinnacle of pianism’.

This years’ festival, ‘Autumn Music Variety’ is no exception. Enjoy this great combination 4th of October in Rector’s Palace, starting at 9 pm.

Stančul will perform Saint-Saëns’ ‘Concerto for Piano and Orchestra no. 2 in G minor, Op. 22’, and the concert will be conducted by mo Tomislav Fačini.

A prelude to the concert will be Mendelssohn’s overture ‘The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave) in B minor, Op. 26’. During the second part of the concert, we will also have the opportunity to listen to Mendelssohn’s ‘Symphony no. 4 in A major, Op. 90  – Italian’.

Ticket prices are from 100 to 300 kuna and can be purchased at the Symphony’s office (Slanica, Svetog Dominika Street), the tourist agency Perla Adriatica in Ploče, gift shop Dubravka on Pile, Luža Cultural Center and one hour before the concert in front of the Rector’s Palace.

Prominent pianist Jasminka Stančul, after the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, continues her education at the Conservatory of Vienna and Geneva. In 1989, on the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, Stančul won the first prize.

She continues to live and create in Vienna and work with the Vienna String Quartet.She performed with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra ‘Mozarteum’ and ‘Bruckner’ in Linz, Paris Symphony Orchestra and many other renowned orchestras, with esteemed conductors.
