A neglected corner in Cavtat has just had a colourful new makeover

A once-overlooked corner in Cavtat has been given a fresh new look, with a striking mural transforming a worn-out façade into something far more vibrant and inviting

A brighter look for one of Cavtat’s everyday corners

The wall, located in the street between the town walls and the Konavle Tourist Board, has been turned into a new visual point of interest thanks to artist Filip Mrvalj, who worked on the mural together with his brother. Their work already features a painted cat and a recognisable grasta with a bougainvillea tree, adding a distinctly local feel to the space. What was once easy to miss now brings colour, charm and character to this part of Cavtat.

More could still be added

The initiative came from the Municipality of Konavle in cooperation with the Tourist Board, showing how even a relatively simple intervention can make a visible difference in a place experienced every day by both locals and visitors. More than simply covering a neglected surface, the mural brings fresh energy to the area and offers a reminder of how art can completely change the mood of an ordinary street corner. For now, the façade has already taken on a new identity, but it seems worth waiting to see what else street artists might add to it by the time the project is fully complete.
