Kevin Spacey is back in Dubrovnik, a city that has remained part of his travel memories for nearly two decades.
The internationally acclaimed actor and two-time Academy Award winner returned 17 years after choosing Dubrovnik as the setting for his 50th birthday celebration in 2009. His connection with the city began even earlier, during a previous visit that left a lasting impression and inspired him to return with friends.
This summer, Spacey has once again been enjoying the Croatian coast in the company of friends, including Croatian film director Jakov Sedlar, his long-time friend and collaborator.
During his stay in Dubrovnik, the actor celebrated his 67th birthday with an intimate dinner at the renowned Proto Fish Restaurant, one of the city’s most established gastronomic addresses.
The evening unfolded in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, accompanied by a selection of fresh seafood and traditional Dubrovnik specialities for which Proto has long been celebrated. Spacey and his guests enjoyed the restaurant’s signature maritime cuisine, combining locally sourced ingredients, time-honoured recipes and the distinctive elegance of Dubrovnik’s dining tradition.
For Proto, welcoming the celebrated actor on such a special occasion was both a pleasure and an honour. More than a decade after one of his most memorable Dubrovnik celebrations, Spacey’s return offered another reminder of the city’s enduring appeal, a place to which visitors return not only for its beauty, but also for its atmosphere, hospitality and unforgettable experiences.
